PARAMUS. Exhibition by Javier Vidal Aguilera

  • The Lighthouse 11 Mitchell Ln Glasgow, G1 3NU United Kingdom

The exhibition PARAMUS features a collection of graphic documentation for two hypothetical architectural proposals.  One is set in the moorlands of Lewis and Harris (2014), and the second is set in the Dunes of Corrubedo, Galicia (2015). The first one was the result of Javier's MFA thesis project, and the second was a continuation of the concept now set in a different context.

The work exhibited includes digital drawings mounted on panels and two architectural models.

The exhibition is a reflection on the boundary between art, design and architecture, to highlight the importance of creating spaces that sharpen our experience and perception of the natural environment. It will encourage you to think about enjoying the landscape from a different point of view and broadening your perspective of the relationship between architecture and the landscape.

Javier Vidal Aguilera is an architect (ARB) and MFA graduate. Originally from Galicia, Spain, he has lived in Scotland since 2012, where he alternates his work in an architectural firm with exhibitions of his own work. He exhibited individually and as part of a group in international galleries in the US, Japan and the UK. His context based work ranges in all kind of media, including scale models, digital and hand drawing, and art installation.
