What is Rainbow Cups?
Rainbow Cups is a folk game involving bottletops and bluffing, played in refugee camps after the fall of civilisation, as portrayed in a thrilling new short film by Ian Hendry, produced by the Glasgow Film Crew, officially released online on Fri 19 Feb 2015.
Jessica (Ailsa Lonsdale, Dark Haven, All About Change Theatre Company) is part of a group of forest scavengers (including comedian Iain Campbell, The Man Who Kept Hearing His Name Getting Called Out) that make camp in a dangerous part of the woods, and aren’t prepared for the arrival of Gerry (Daniel Cahill, National Theatre, National Theatre of Scotland, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) and his paramilitary gang.
To celebrate the online release, Glasgow Film Crew are hosting an Online Release Screening Event on Thursday 18 Feb 2015 at 7.30pm in The Flying Duck (142 Renfield Street, Glasgow). The event is free entry and open to everyone.
Rainbow Cups was voted Best Short Film of the Month in October 2014 at GMAC Film’s Café Flicker, and runner-up for Best Short Film of the Year at the end of the year. Glasgow Film Crew won Best Title Sequence for their submission to the 48 Hour Film Project Glasgow in 2014 and won Best Writing and Best Use of Line of Dialogue in 2013.
