YAKA Collective present SO IT IS at the Briggait, Glasgow.
15th - 29th November 2014
YAKA Collective is proud to present SO IT IS, a group exhibition featuring 30 artists who graduated between 2010-2014. The show is spread across four venues in Glasgow: The Briggait, Laurieston Arches on Cleland Lane, Caledonia Road Church and Laurieston Arena. The show will run from Saturday 15th – 29th November, with a preview on Friday 14th November from 6pm. Visitors can expect a range of work during the exhibition’s two-week run, including sculptural installations, performances, events and workshops.
SO IT IS has been produced in association with Wasps Studios and WAVEparticle, the artist-led art organisation who run the three Laurieston sites. While the 1873 Hall at the Briggait is well known as a space for the siting of artworks, the other venues are not yet recognised in the same way. By facilitating a dialogue between these different sites, the show aims to highlight the potential that they all have as creative spaces.
Alongside WAVEparticle, the creation of the three Laurieston spaces is supported by Glasgow City Council, Stalled Spaces, NGHA, Urban Union and Network Rail.
Preview: Friday 14th November 6-8pm at the Briggait. For directions please click here.
Exhibition continues: 16th - 29th November at the following venues:
