Dana Finnigan is a print designer who offers a wide range of interior products including wallpaper, cushions, and ceramics and printed Bathroom Suites. After gaining a Masters Degree in Textile Design at the Glasgow School of Art, Dana has since started her own self titled interior surface pattern design company based in Glasgow.
Dana Finnigan is on the cutting edge of surface pattern design – always striving to bring customers innovative print design. Instead of producing textile design in the traditional way she has decided to think about textile design in new, interesting and adventurous ways, creating a product range utilising her skill in digital print.
The current product on offer is the printed bathroom suite influenced by traditional Victoria techniques of surface pattern design in sanitary ware. This is a completely new way of thinking of the traditional ‘stark white’ bathroom that was been the style in recent years.
Dana Finnigan describe her style as ‘Masculine Collage’. “With a touch of nostalgia, our designs are inspired by Art Nouveau and Art Deco alike. It is the company’s mission to take bold shapes then blur, texturise and distort them. We really love colour and always try to come up with unique combinations you wouldn’t normally put together. With that in mind, our designs are aimed at bringing together the vintage and modern in your decor of choice.”
Currently Dana is working on a new collection inspired by Japanese Woodblock Prints to be launched during the London Design Festival in September 2015. Products will include a range of custom printed large scale tiles and tile planters along with printed urinals, wallpaper and other smaller interior products.
From the 8th of June, Dana’s work will be exhibited as part of a large installation in the Gallery of Galeries Lafayette (in Paris) curated by the concept store Chez Moi Pairs. The show will be on to September.
