Paul Kennedy graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2004 and is a Glaswegian artist who has been exhibiting in Glasgow and the UK for over ten years. His inspiration comes from native Glaswegian artists of the early 20th century such as Glasgow boys James Guthrie, Joseph Crawhall, Henry and Hornell who painted some of the greatest figurative painting in the world.
"I find it sad that no one seems to want to paint in a similar styles to those of the past and so I keep true to myself developing my own style whilst always inspired by the greats of the past. I paint many things but my figure paintings range in subject from nostalgic figurative to modern everyday life with the occasional nod to the great artists who inspire me. My technique tends to sway from loose and expressive to very considered and tight in places. I paint life the way it happens."
