The Electric Gardens
If you are looking for something to take you away from this wonderful season we call Winter, be sure to head on down to the Electric Garden currently on show between the 23rd of January to 15th of February 2015 in the Botanic Gardens.
It is an absolute feast of atmospheric light and sound installations which takes you on a journey out of the ordinary. Highlights include impressive fire dancers, immune to freezing temperatures and naked flames, a huge disco ball with some finger snapping music, a ghostly depiction of a nightclub scene with rumbling jungle beats included and most impressive of all was the disused train station reminiscent of late night soirees in not so legal places.
The tour is self-directed and with many obscure treats hiding amongst the foliage, it’s definitely worth spending time exploring, although hat and gloves are recommended.
