We take a look at the beautiful work of Victoria Braithwaite, a talented Glasgow based botanical watercolour painter.
"I’ve drawn and painted for most of my adult life, attending many courses covering different disciplines, and always enjoyed flowers and plants as subjects. I love gardening, observing nature and being out in the green as much as possible. I was always peripherally aware of botanical art –in the sense of admiring historical prints and illustrations– but had never thought of it as a modern art form. This changed when I attended a course run locally by Fiona Strickland, whose work demonstrates the arresting beauty that can come about when time is slowed and great care is taken with a subject."
